Nigel Poad

Nigel Poad (only use)Nigel is a Chartered Surveyor with 19 years experience the entirety of which has been within the retail sector.

He started his career with The Burton Group based in Leeds followed by a spell with Early Learning Centre before returning to The Burton Group working specifically on Debenhams acquisitions. Following the demerger of Debenhams from what then became Arcadia Nigel moved to London and spent 9 years acquiring new stores for the department store chain through their most rapid expansion period ever.

Having worked for Terry Green, Belinda Earl and finally Rob Templeman ultimately holding the position of Head of Property Acquisitions, Nigel gained a detailed knowledge of retailer's requirements and helped shape the design of many of the retail schemes that Debenhams have anchored over the last 10 years.

In 2006 Nigel left Debenhams to join Modus, setting up their London office and being responsible for the leasing of all their major retail schemes.

Nigel brought to Modus a wealth of retail experience and almost unique knowledge of the retail development pipeline having seen and in many cases been closely involved in almost all the retail developments proposed in the UK and Ireland over the last 10 years.

The aim of Modus is to draw on this experience and ensure that schemes are designed in such a manner to ensure they have addressed any concerns that potential retailers may have.
