Blog: Niche clothing companies show 40% YOY online sales growth

Online shopping continues to show growth despite the credit crunch

Online shopping continues to show growth despite the credit crunch

We are tracking 50 or so online shops (mostly niche brands) including 20+ apparel businesses including Joules, Crew, Hotter, Chukka, Browns and Crombie to name a few.

The data has been compiled from retail websites where year-on-year data is available. The bottom line is that online is performing well overall, even though the high street is suffering.

We attribute this to changing shopping patterns and consumer's comfort levels with the internet, and it is clear that some sales are being cannibalised from the high street.

However, it is also evident that some brands (such as Joules Clothing) are performing well across multiple channels with products that are of the moment and in demand.

Screen Pages uses Google Analytics to track the visitors and sales of trhe websites it manages. How are you finding online shopping? Let me know your thoughts.
