This blog on Drapers Online started in May 2008 with a post about The Online Fashion Trust Factor. What a couple of years it has been!
At the time I was just beginning to exit my role with OSOYOU, the UK’s first social fashion network, to begin life as a consultant. Working for a start up fashion social network definitely gives you an all round view of the industry; from retail to media planning, to content, commercial strategy and marketing.
The projects I worked on as a consultant lead me to producing Online Fashion 100. I wanted to bring together the people making things happen. I’m very thankful that it was well received, and that it has been used in the way it has.
A couple of months after its release we had an event for it, sponsored by Fashshot.com, who is now a client of ours at The Online Fashion Agency, a fashion website consultancy I’ve been able to launch thanks to all the opportunities I’ve had from the industry, including the team at Drapers who have always been very supportive.
The new Online Fashion 100 is complete (the expert panel will be revealed soon) and ready to go next month, as will the new www.leonbaileygreen.com, which is very exciting. If you’ve been wondering why there’s a Union Jack on my Twitter page all will be clear with the relaunch!
In the meantime, The Online Fashion Agency will continue to be a resource for online fashion information. There is a very interesting project we have coming up around August which I’m a tad nervous about, it’s been in planning for almost a year!
Thanks to everyone that has been supportive, it does mean a lot to me personally as well as for my business. I hope you continue to follow everything that’s coming up, fashion and non-fashion…
