The winner will receive an award at an event sponsored by Fash Shot, next month.
Everyone who was listed on the Online Fashion 100 list can vote for up to three people, who are also on the list, to collect the inaugural crown.
If you’ve seen the list you’ll know it comprises of store owners, bloggers, editors and marketers, to name a few professions. For me, the most interesting thing will be to see which ‘type’ pulls in the most votes.
The store owners/e-tail bosses are the most well known, due to the nature of business retail reporting, so they have an advantage in that their successes are well reported.
But will they pat each other on the back by supporting rivals with votes?
Bloggers and online editors might support each other, due to their similar roles, but they could be swayed to voting for e-tail professionals of shops they like and feature.
Those behind the scenes making retail happen as e-commerce managers might be inclined to support colleagues in their retail groups.
Those working as service providers to online stores, will (or at least should) be keen to see their clients shore up the most votes.
The affiliate community is close knit, but will this closeness stretch to voting for each other? And will the providers support their merchants, publishers or both in equal measure?
Whatever happens in between, we’ll find out on the night just who the industry most respects.
