The iPad is certainly the gadget of the moment, but what opportunities does it, and the soon to be released HP Slate, hold for fashion retailers?
Early adopters in the UK will have their hands on Apple’s new device later this month and if the proliferation of the iPhone is anything to go by it’ll be in the hands of many in no time.
The question is, do pad devices, a bridge between mobiles and netbooks, hold more opportunities for fashion retail than smartphones? I think so. The iPad and HP Slate are touch based devices which, one would assume, would allow for a more pleasant and natural browsing experience.
Imagine the ease of controlling the spin on a pair of shoes with your fingertips, instead of a mouse? How many more products would you look at if they were on a continual fingertip controlled scroll, instead of having to click to next page, or scroll down, or across, with a mouse?
Would you shop for clothes from an iPad or Slate?
