Come and have a go if you think you're stylish enough!

Next week sees the start of a new campaign that we are launching in Ben Sherman stores, the search for a Brand Ambassador. It’s a popular mechanic; lots of brands run model competitions and the search for a new face is not that new an idea. But here at Ben Sherman mansions we didn’t feel it appropriate to seek out another model-type, we needed something more inclusive. We are searching for people with a great attitude and enviable personal look and they can be any age, height or size.

In general, the British are a stylish lot renowned for their individuality and we wanted to encourage that creativity in dressing. The rise in popularity of street-style magazine features and blogs such as The Sartorialist, Stylescout and Streetpeeper is indicative of the current zeitgeist; that we are a nation celebrating real people and their daily interpretation of trends. Nowadays it’s not about the brand dictating how to wear the product, it’s about the customers showing the brand how they wear it. The balance of power has most definitely shifted.

So during the month of September we are inviting people to come instore, pick an outfit from the new collection, try it on and get snapped. All entrants will be posted on a gallery on our website and the ones that rock Ben Sherman the best will be picked from each of our stores at the end of the campaign. The lucky 5 will each win £1000 worth of clothes across the year, will feature on the Ben Sherman website and contribute to the Buttondown blog as they tell us what they got up whilst kitted out in Ben Sherman. (Kerry Katona need not apply.)
