Fashion Democracy

So no matter how hard you try you see people clicking and buying effortless from ASOS. We have done countless events on how to drive traffic and make more money from your site and most people know it takes a huge amount of effort, time and money and smaller up-and-coming brands don’t necessarily have that in this economic climate.

But now ASOS have now launched Marketplace where tiny retailers, boutiques and designers can now open their own virtual shop – personally if I was a budding designer / retailer I would jump at the chance as you could learn so much besides having a huge amount of traffic through your little shop of the right type of customer who will buy.

The criteria is quite high , they will vet each applicant and you will really have to work hard on your pictures , you just can’t have a skirt looking sad on an old wire hanger , but to me this is excellent as it make you raise the bar and really gets you thinking and selling like a professional. Plus within this Market place you’ll find Browns Focus and Zone7Style the vintage shop so your mixing with the real bigger fashion boutiques.

ASOS have consistently shown the way in e-tailing and how the whole world of retailing is moving online so by allowing small undiscovered retailers and designers to show their stuff alongside their product is a huge bonus and speaks volumes about the democracy of the internet where everyone has a place as it’s so big.

So with EBay Outlet and rumours of Google launching a designer fashion sales platform Google Shopping and Google Checkout it has never looked so good for the rising fashionistas.
