I’m always one for packing light as I hate stowing bags in the hold, so selecting the right pieces that can mix and match is paramount for me.
Tapping into a key summer trend, I’m ditching the straight leg selvedges in favour of chinos. I wear mine in a tapered fit - roomy at the thigh and cut a little narrower at the ankle. They look great when I turn them up into a two roll cuff. I’ll also be packing a light chambray shirt (tucked in, long sleeves rolled to above the elbow), some white plimsolls or navy deck shoes, a shawl collar cotton cardigan and a navy slim fit brushed cotton twill patch pocket blazer. Add in a darker indigo denim shirt and two of my favourite cotton madras check shirts and my carry-on duffle bag is set.
These pieces will fit into the preppy chino trend without going overboard and looking like an actual Oxford student!
