Afshin Feiz's Autumn Winter Collection is named Cocoon. It is his second outing at London Fashion Week after showing for several seasons at New York Fashion Week.
Though a deeply personal collection, winter takes Feiz outside of his comfort zone. Gone are the pastels and super light feelings of summer. Instead the designer has found himself veering towards a darker, stronger and more futuristic vision. The inspiration is typical of Feiz.
His first Winter collection in New York was inspired by butterflies and their symbolism in Persian poet Rumi's poetry. The flame of a candle attracts the butterfly. She is the lover who is drawn to her beloved, only to get her wings burnt. Four years on, Feiz felt the need to re-examine this theme, a self-test to see his progression since the start of his brand.
