For Autumn Winter 2008 'Once Upon A Time' by Jean Charles de Castelbajac has drawn inspiration from both modern military and children's playtime to provide a collection with the creative dynamism so synonymous with him.
Awash with vibrant colours and structured shapes, 'Once Upon A Time' is wartime influenced with a twist. Feminine silhouettes dominate with pleats, high waists and empire lines featured throughout. Beautifully cut swing coats, ponchos and school style blazers are key pieces along with chunky knits, military style coats and jackets, colourful tea-dresses and wool jumpsuits.
Oversized detailing, Polka-dots, smiley faces, rainbows and clouds give this collection Castelbajac's usual injection of fun. Chunky medallion necklaces and metallic quilted bags accessorise this very versatile collection.
