There’s nothing quite like editing Drapers Next Generation supplement to remind me of how much talent we have in our industry. Now in its third year, the concept never ceases to amaze me.
Just when I think we can’t better the previous year’s 30 under 30 feature, where we profile 30 talented individuals under the age of 30, our industry’s future stars show just how passionate and brilliant they are. From buyers and merchandisers, to designers and store managers, to garment technologists and entrepreneurs (there are several of these in particular this year), the fashion sector is bursting at the seams with talented people.
It’s no wonder, given how inspirational fashion’s established leaders are. We speak to the likes of Marks & Spencer’s Kate Bostock and the hugely talented Christopher Kane about their mentors, and go back to the shopfloor with Oasis managing director Liz Evans.
