David Dalziel, Founder and creative director, Dalziel & Pow

Despite retailers halting expansion and refurbishment plans this year, Dalziel & Pow founder David Dalziel still managed to rack up an impressive list of clients in 2008, the company’s 25th anniversary.

While new concepts were harder to come by, Dalziel kept a steady flow of roll-outs and refreshed designs for existing clients.
At the Westfield London shopping centre in White City, Dalziel rolled out concepts for footwear retailers Barratts – the original being unveiled at Meadowhall in Sheffield earlier in the year – and Jones Bootmaker.

He opened an office in Shanghai in China, reflecting the increase in international custom. New overseas clients include Danish department store Magasin du Nord and Australian fashion retailer Cotton On.

Back home, Dalziel & Pow refreshed concepts for JD Sports in shopping centre Liverpool One and River Island in Brent Cross in north London, while a new storefit was launched for Sainsbury’s Tu in Sydenham, south-east London.
