Liberty has launched a transactional website for its Liberty of London brand

Liberty has launched a transactional website selling accessories under its own label Liberty of London.  

The site sells handbags, silk scarves, ties and travel bags from the luxury Liberty of London collection at www.libertyoflondon.co.uk.

Liberty plans to open a Liberty of London standalone store in London's Sloane Street this June. 

Liberty has invested heavily in its Liberty of London own brand over the last 12 months spending £3.5 million on the venture in the year to December 31. It does not expect to generate a profit from the line for several years but own label is a key plank of the department store's growth strategy and sales of the label rose 8% to £3.2m last year.
