Fashion and homeware retailer Laura Ashley has increased its stake in menswear chain Moss Bros for the fourth time since the beginning of the year.

Laura Ashley now holds a stake of 6.21% in Moss Bros, after buying a further 240,000 shares at 46.2p through its investment vehicle Bagleys Investments.

Icelandic investor Baugur is in talks with Moss Bros to takeover the company. Laura Ashley is among retailers which have been rumoured to be contemplating a rival bid. However Laura Ashley said last week that its stake was an investment opportunity and no approach had been made.
