Debenhams named best department store

Debenhams has been voted the UK's best department store at the GMTV high street fashion awards for the third time in a row.

The retailer fended off competition form Marks & Spencer, House of Fraser and Selfridges to take the top prize.

The judges, who included Glamour magazine editor Jo Elvin, TV presenter Myleene Klass and GMTV fashion guru Mark Heyes, said the department store's Designers at Debenhams offer differentiated it from the competition.

I too am puzzled by this conclusion. The branches tend to vary enormously as well: Debenhams in Brighton is absolutely AWFUL (should be called Grannies are us) , whereas in Eastbourne it's quite nice.
Loving the Matthew Williamson swimwear range in the Eastbourne branch.

How anyoone can say Debs is better than Selfridges??
Must have been a stitch up /PR thingy from Debs...cannot possibly be genuine.

The judges clearly forgot to visit John Lewis.
Debenhams is a mess.
