Producing a collection for a supermarket, even if it is Britain’s biggest, that is at once exciting and incredibly inexpensive (note NOT ‘cheap’) is no small task. But it appears Florence & Fred’s spring 13 collection really strikes the balance well. OK, so it’s not vicunha this or lamb’s leather that but for the almost inexplicably low prices (according to Tesco there’s nothing untoward in how they produce the collection) the quality was, not to overstate it, a revelation. Trend-wise all the main ones are ticked as Sixties mixes it with a relaxed boho vibe, and brights sit comfortably alongside repeat prints. Definitely ones to watch come spring.
