Verdict: Collections are improving but there is still some work to be done.

Looks - 7

Faith flags up its Tribal and Heavy Heel trend stories with PoS graphics. Key styles include yellow geisha girl platforms, clunky wedges, gladiator sandals, covered clumpy platforms, black patent and elasticated-strap evening shoes and strappy T-bars, alongside a healthy dose of mid-heel round-toe ribbon-tie casuals seemingly inspired by Kurt Geiger's Solea.

Men passing by for Topman Oxford Circus might be lured in by full-on silver sequin points or Zebra lace-ups.

Mix - 6

Faith's product has certainly improved but amid some real gems there are still some dogs, such as a cheap-looking pale gold platform sandal with ankle strap which is a reminder of Faith's fall from grace a few season's ago. About 20% of the offer is flats and the rest is split fairly evenly between casual and formal styles.

Men's is hardly worth a mention as the range is so narrow and out there.

Store - 4

Bigger, more striking graphics have been introduced and a disco-themed window set complete with rotating plinth lifts the product and is a big improvement. A "best of" wall is a good idea but is positioned behind customers as they enter, while some shelves are too high to see. There are also random single shoes displayed on the floor below the self-service rails.

The store interior still lags behind the competition but Sale racks are not overbearing for once. Men's gets a good show in the window but is relegated to the back of the shop inside.

Value - 5

This is hit and miss dependent on style. Wedges that could be picked up at similar quality from New Look sell for £45 but gladiator sandals are an acceptable £25. Generally the price architecture works on Faith's newer handwriting product such as a black patent and elastic-strap T-bar for £70 but doesn't on what appears to be historic bestsellers that need ditching.

Designer tie-ups including Gil Carvahlo for Faith are toppy though at £120 for metallic platforms – interesting that much of this is in the Sale.

Rebeka-Beer-Faith• Are you a regular shopper here?
Yes, I come into town a lot.  I live quite far away.

• What does this shop mean to you?
Just a place to browse.  I might buy for a special occasion, a prom or something.

• How impressed are you with this season's offerings?
It's quite bland actually, just brown and black.

• What is it they're doing well?
Styles are good.

• What have they missed out that you would have liked to have seen?
It's missing out on colour. I like other shops with colour that are more funky.
