Kurt Geiger, 29 Bridlesmith Gate

KEY LOOKS: 8
As with spring, Kurt Geiger offers some of the more interesting and unique styling on the high street but still hits the commercial trends. Over the knee platform boots, mustard coloured patent penny loafers, Gucci-style studded sandals, black and cream patent shoe boots, red patent double strap heels, biker boots and cowgirl styling deliver premium dressy and casual looks.

MERCHANDISE MIX: 8
The bulk of the offer comes from Carvela and KG with just a smattering of top price Kurt Geiger boot styles in the centre of the store. There are 15 options on an array of Ugg styles prominently displayed at the front and a capsule offering from Kurt Geiger's licensing deal with French Connection. The emphasis is on shoes rather than boots and this is big on heels.

STORE APPEAL: 6
An upmarket store environment but let down by the amount of discounting which is pushed to the front of the store and displayed across 16 racks by size. However given our visit falls on Kurt Geiger's key concession partner House of Fraser's final 70% off mid-season weekend, the volume of Sale product is to be expected.

VALUE FOR MONEY: 8
With up to 50% off, there are some bargains to be had in the Sale but design input on non-Sale merchandise justifies most price points. Petrol blue pointed Carvela platforms with ribbon detail are £75 while KG sits a touch above at £120 for heeled penny loafers. The normal top end price points that come with the mainline aren't here, perhaps because Nottingham shoppers with cash to burn are heavily into the big catwalk labels.
