Office - final score: 26/40

Looks - 8Offices hits all the right looks for women and gives some its own quirky twists such as fringing on booties, graduated patent flat points with an elasticated strap, patent penny loafers, low wedges in rainbow shades and sculpted heels with Perspex-trim uppers. More obvious looks are here too, with tribal and gladiator sandals, chunky wooden wedges and sporty candy-coloured heels. Men get the same seasons-old Ask The Missus Velcro-fasten pump mixed with fresher navy loafers, desert boots and woven lace-ups from Hudson. | Mix - 7Casual looks dominate both the women's and men's offers. There are four racks of Sale product downstairs and upstairs. Trainers play a significant role for men and are also important for women, with exclusive colourways prominently flagged up. Own brand Poste delivers the majority of men's formals but the Poste Mistress equivalent is limited, with only half of a freestanding unit given over to the premium line. |
Store - 5Against Oxford Street this store definitely needs a pick-me-up. The floor and walls both have dirty marks and the white box interior looks shabby and dated. The window flags up a mid-season 50%-off Sale. There's just nothing to lift the decent product or reflect Office's quirky handwriting, and more could be done to drive male shoppers to the difficult to access first floor men's offer. | Value - 6Although Office is reasonable on price against River Island, it comes a poor second partly because of the environment but also because of design content. T-bar sandals with elastic detail are £55, while chunky wooden wedges match Topshop at £60. A low ankle-height Ugg is a great £100 though. Brown wrinkled leather lace-ups from Poste are £99 and navy loafers from own label Ask the Missus are £60. |
