AMG Group, the UK distributor of several outdoor and footwear brands including Ugg, has restructured its business and set up a dedicated footwear company called AMG Footwear.

AMG said that the restructure meant the business could focus on bringing in new footwear brands to its portfolio and supporting its footwear companies.

Under the restructure, Dave Snowdon, the former sales and marketing director at AMG Group, has been promoted to managing director of AMG Footwear.

Tamsin MacLaren, has been appointed national sales manager at AMG Footwear. MacLaren joined from Nike ACG.

Tim Greaves has joined AMG Footwear as senior territory manager for the Midlands and the North for the Teva and Simple footwear brands. Greaves has previously worked at Timberland.

AMG acquired the distribution rights for Ugg in 2005. Ugg now has 220 stockists across the UK and AMG Footwear will open eight Ugg branded shop in shops with multiple and independent retailers this year to raise the brand's profile beyond its classic sheepskin boot product.

AMG entered the footwear market in 2002 when it secured the rights to distribute Deckers footwear in the UK.
