Gola Classics in tie-up with Christian Lacroix

Gola Classics, the British sportswear brand, has signed a deal to collaborate on a collection of men's and women's footwear with designer Christian Lacroix.

The spring 09 collection is inspired by Lacroix's patterns and comprises two styles each for men and women. The styles incorporate signature elements of the Christian Lacroix brand, including bold colours, embroidery and embossing.

Lacroix said: "Trainers are to the 21st century what shimmering ties and multicoloured vests were to the dandies of the 19th century – a distinctive sign, a personal signature. Given carte blanche by Gola, I have the opportunity to bring the modernity of a contemporary brand together with an iconic design of our couture house: the embroideries of a torero cape."
