High street supplier Rise is taking its wares direct to the consumer with the launch of a transactional website.
The young fashion supplier said it had launched the site at www.risefashion.co.uk as a reaction to recent insolvencies on the high street. MK One, Ethel Austin, Internaçionale and Select all fell into administration this year but were subsequently bought out.
Rise owner Janette Andrew said she had taken "positive" steps in reaction to these events by adding an additional revenue stream to her supply business.
She said: "I've never known an industry to change so quickly. The internet has to be the way forward. Although there will always be suppliers, increasingly retailers are cutting out the middle men, so if you can't beat them, join them."
The Rise website stocks a selection of women's dresses, jackets and shirts, and features a Star Style section, which is dedicated to the latest celebrity looks. There is also a behind-the-scenes video of the latest Rise photo shoot.
Rise supplies the likes of Jane Norman, New Look and House of Fraser. It introduces 100 new styles each week and has the capacity to deliver to retailers within six weeks from factories in India and China.
