Giorgio Armani has strong 2007

Giorgio Armani's wholesale revenues jumped 15% to €2.4 billion (£1.92bn) in 2007, while consolidated sales rose 8% to €1.6bn (£1.3bn) compared to the previous year.

Wholesale orders at Giorgio Armani for autumn 08 were up 7% compared to 2006, with clothing sales up 12%.

Sales at the Giorgio Armani brand jumped 13% to €870 million (£696m), Armani Exchange's sales rose 25% to €201m (£161m) and Armani Jeans saw its sales increase 5% to €291m (£232m).

President and chief executive Giorgio Armani said: "These financial results for 2007 reflect a company that has been consistently growing for thirty years and that has built an innovative and winning business model under the Armani  brand. One can fully appreciate the vitality of the brand in the world today through this outstanding performance."
