James Bidwell, the former marketing director of Selfridges, has been appointed md of Anthropologie Europe
James Bidwell, the former marketing director at Selfridges and former chief executive of Visit London, has been appointed managing director of Anthropologie Europe.
Anthropologie is understood to be searching for a site in London and is believed to have looked at sites in the capital's Regent Street. The company hopes to have between 20 and 40 stores in Europe within five years.
Anthropologie is the sister chain to Urban Outfitters which already has 14 stores in Europe including a presence in the UK.
Urban Outfitters chief executive Glen Senk said: "James is a perfect fit with Anthropologie's culture, which values creativity, initiative and genuine love of the customer. His significant experience in brand development and marketing combined with his global perspective will make him essential to Anthropologie's successful expansion abroad."
