UBS is leading a strategic review of Jaeger

Harold Tillman has appointed UBS to complete a strategic review of his Jaeger fashion business which could lead to him selling the chain.

The Sunday Times said that Tillman, who owns 70% of the brand, had received a number of approaches for Jaeger.

Tillman bought the loss-making Jaeger business in 2003 and drafted in Belinda Earl, the former chief executive of Debenhams, to lead the recovery of the brand in 2004. Last week Jaeger reported sales up 16% to £82.2m for the year ended February 23 and EBITDA rose 22% to £6.1m over the year.

Tillman told The Sunday Times: "The label will be 125 years old next year and we have an enviably strong brand. I am often approached about my various business interests and it is important to constantly reassess your position."
