H&M May sales rose 25%

H&M May sales rose 25%

H&M's like-for-like sales rose 14% in May, while total sales rose 25% over the month.

H&M's performance was an improvement on the previous month, when like-for-like sales dropped 10%, impacted by poor weather.

H&M's like-for-like sales for the first six months of the year rose 1%. Total sales were up 12% to SEK 41,351 (£3.49 billion). Group profit after tax reached SEK 6,880 (£581.6 million), up 19% from SEK 5,768 (£487.7m) for the same period last year.

During the first half of the year, H&M opened 59 stores.
