Nick Samuel, the chief executive of Hobbs, is to step down this summer.

Hobbs chief operating officer Nicky Dulieu will step up to the role of managing director and Tony Campbell, a former deputy chief executive of Asda, has been drafted in as executive chairman.

Samuel will remain a non-executive director and shareholder at Hobbs.

Samuel told Drapers, "I will be remain an investor at Hobbs and will continue as a director. This was something I had been thinking about for some time. I want to stay in retail and try some new things in a non-executive capacity or as a consultant."

An absolute handover date has not yet been finalised.
