BBC1's Panorama exposé on Primark and its suppliers was the most watched television programme at 9pm last night.
The special Panorama show, which had been moved from its normal 8.30pm slot to air at 9pm and which had been extended from its usual half hour to one hour, peaked with 4.5m viewers in the final quarter of an hour.
It was Panorama's most watched programme since November. ABC1 viewers made up 45.5% of the audience while those aged between 16 and 34 accounted for 22.9% of the audience.
Last week Primark axed three of its Southern Indian factories following the BBC Panorama team's investigation which found that some of Primark's suppliers had sub-contracted work and that some of that work was being completed by children.
