Richard Jones has quit Sainsbury's to join Tesco

Richard Jones, director of general merchandise and global sourcing at Sainsbury's has quit to join Tesco.

Jones is believed to have resigned on Friday. It is unclear what role he will take up at Tesco. 

Jones joined Sainbury's five years ago to head up its TU fashion brand before being promoted to his current position about 18 months ago.
