Sports Direct makes new appointments as non-exec quits

Sports Direct, owned by billionaire Mike Ashley, has appointed two new non-executive directors to its board following the departure of non-executive director Chris Bulmer.

Malcolm Dalgleish, head of retail for Europe, Middle East and Africa at real property firm CB Richard Ellis, and Dave Singleton, former Reebok senior vice president of Europe, Middle East and Africa, have joined the company as independent non-executive directors.

Sports Direct acting non-executive chairman Simon Bentley said: "These appointments strengthen the board significantly and Dave and Malcolm's experience and proven track records will be of great value to the company."

Bentley took over the chairman role after David Richardson left the business this summer.
