Mosaic joint venture to bring more brands to Germany

High street fashion group Mosaic will expand its chains in Germany as part of a joint venture with Arctic Group.

The joint venture, called Arctic-Mosaic Retail, will grow the Karen Millen and Oasis chains, which have been operating in Germany for several years. It will also introduce other Mosaic brands to the German market.

Under the deal, the brands will open standalone stores and sell via department stores.

Mosaic chief executive Derek Lovelock said: "The German market is a large and exciting market for our brands. This joint venture is a springboard for further growth in Europe. We are delighted to focus on Germany and to work with a team that has been so successful in developing fashion brands in the country."

Arctic Group, a subsidiary of Baugur Group, is responsible for developing the Bestseller business in Germany.

Mosaic's other brands include Warehouse, Shoe Studio, Odille, Principles, Coast and Whistles.
