Fashion Forward funding to help trio of fledgling brand

Designers Sinha-Stanic, Jens Laugesen and Richard Nicoll will receive Fashion Forward sponsorship from the British Fashion Council to show their spring 08 collections at London Fashion Week in September.

Nicoll and Laugesen are first-time recipients of the sponsorship, which enables British designers to show on the catwalk at LFW. Laugesen is currently designing a capsule range for Topshop, while Nicoll, who graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2002, sold his final-year collection to Dolce & Gabbana.

Sinha-Stanic is receiving Fashion Forward sponsorship for the second time. Designers Fiona Sinha and Aleksandar Stanic made their catwalk debut at LFW in 2004.

The funding, in association with property group Westfield London, is in its third season. It supports British designers who have already established a profile at LFW through the New Generation programme, or who are at an equivalent stage in their business.

Applicants for the sponsorship were shortlisted and interviewed by a panel including members of the BFC, Westfield London, journalists and buyers.

BFC chief executive Hilary Riva said: "The BFC introduced Fashion Forward to support exceptional design talent."
