Cold snap sees rise in sales at John Lewis

Sales at John Lewis department stores were up 7.7% for the week to September 22.
Stripping out increases from the John Lewis Direct business, which was up 35%, bricks and mortar store sales grew by 5.8%. The company said fashion sales saw strong increases due to the impact of colder autumnal weather. Menswear sales were up 13.1% up just ahead of womenswear at 12.5%.
Branded men's casualwear performed strongly with sales rise in double figures according to the John Lewis Gazette.
