Levi's has signed a deal with London Fashion Week designer Henry Holland to create a capsule denim collection.
Based around the classic 501 jean, the eight-piece range will launch for spring 09 and will feature as part of Holland's London catwalk show next season."We don't enter into collaborations lightly, but we felt that Henry's design skills and entrepreneurial spirit were in keeping with the brand," said Levi Strauss UK and Ireland marketing director Andrea Moore.
Holland's catwalk show in east London last week included some basic uncustomised 501 jeans. The limited-edition customised range will be sold through selected Levi's stores as well as wholesale accounts.
The partnership represents the latest in a line of Levi's design collaborations. It already has a pan-European design initiative with streetwear brand Stüssy and a global partnership with Japanese designer Junya Watanabe, and recently signed a tie-up with Nike.
