Myleene is to design a baby range for Mothercare

Mothercare has signed an exclusive deal with Myleene Klass to launch a babywear collection this summer.

Baby K by Myleene Klass will be available in stores at the end of August and will include bodysuits, pinafore sets, dungarees and accessories for newborns up to three years.

Klass, who is also part of Marks & Spencer's advertising campaigns, said: "As a new mum I have used my first hand experience, with other mums in mind, to help design a stunning variety of products."

Mothercare said its team will work closely with Klass on the planning and design of the range.

Yet another celebrity cashing in on what could have been a fantastic opportunity for a budding student/graduate(s).
A large company wanting to promote a new baby collection to the customer, enticing us in with a familiar face from off the television yet again!

C'mon your sales cannot be that bad surely????
Give the unknown under-dog a chance, you might just be surprised!

Yup!! Am conducting my own little ( and very scientific) retail experiment as I write...it's called "How low can we go".
It is going to answer some Q's I have with low priced items and the consumer responce to said items.....I can't wait for it to finish...also going to do a mini video (if customers agree) for you tube.!!!!!

Hello Brighton! Maybe if you become a blogger we will get to know the results of your Lily Cole survey!!!! I however, i feel pretty sure I already know the results..........retailing sets you up to have a crystal ball for this sort of stereotypical behaviour, so sad but true!!!!

Hello Falkirk! Just did my own bit of Micro - Market Research on 14 yr old daughter and 5 mates re; Lily Cole and M+ S. You can guess the reaction as you are a retailer! But I'm going to keep the survey results all to myself.............................

I've heard it all now! What does that say to the industry when a "celebrity" can lay claim to designing a baby collection that the real designers spent years learning to create. Same as the supposed uber designer Kate Moss, its a marketing ploy that they expect everyone to believe and sadly alot of people will genuinley believe Myleene got her sketch book out and designed the collection. Good person to promote your brand, but dont insult our intelligence by expecting us to think she creates it.
