Spice Girl Mel B has inked a deal to become the new face and body of lingerie brand Ultimo - the brand's biggest celebrity signing to date.

The star was signed up to be the face of the brand after owner Michele Mone saw Mel B in a bikini in a paparazzi shot.

Mone said: "Mel B is the biggest star Ultimo has ever signed and I am excited that this will take the brand onto another level. I saw a picture of her in a bikini in Miami and had to sign her for Ultimo."

Mel B added: "When Michelle Mone asked me, I was ecstatic. I was excited, but slightly nervous - I had never modelled lingerie before."

The Ultimo spring 08 collection has been inspired by Miami Beach and Art Deco. Satin and bright colours have been used on the range along with a leopard print which Mel B is strongly associated with. 

The Spice Girl will replace Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding as the face and body of Ultimo.
