Jaeger owner Harold Tillman and chief executive Belinda Earl are on the hunt for more brand acquisitions after buying a 60% stake in designer footwear label Beatrix Ong last week.

Tillman told Drapers he would explore other investment opportunities, but stressed that their main priority remained running the Jaeger business. The deal is not directly linked to Jaeger.

Tillman said he planned to develop the Beatrix Ong label  into a department store concession business. He will also look for a flagship store in New York and more standalone stores in the UK.

Tillman was introduced to the Beatrix Ong business during a recent event at London's Burlington Arcade, where the eponymous footwear designer and former Jimmy Choo protégé has a store.

Ong will continue to run the footwear business, but Tillman and Earl will both join the board. Tillman said formal roles at the company had not yet been finalised.

Beatrix Ong produces bespoke footwear and a ready-to-wear collection. The business launched at London Fashion Week in 2002.
