British Fashion Council reveals scholarship winner

The British Fashion Council has announced that the winner of its BFC MA Scholarship scheme is fashion designer Nabil El-Nayal.
El-Nayal, a Manchester Metropolitan University graduate, will receive funding for a Masters course in fashion design as part of the scheme, which is part funded by the London Development Agency.The designer is to take up a place at the Royal College of Art to study an MA in Fashion Womenswear after impressing the panel of industry insiders who awarded him the coveted prize.
The panel included Simon Ward, head of operations at BFC, Alison Edmond, fashion director of Harper's Bazaar and Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey. Bailey said: "There was a beautiful sense of lightness in Nabil's work that came through his portfolio."
Head of BFC colleges council Anne Tyrell,who was also on the panel, added: "This scholarship is a welcome addition to the BFC's support for emerging design talent in the UK."
