Primark has backed tartan and two-in-one dresses to be bestsellers for autumn as it issued the first pictures of the collection due to hit stores in October.
The value chain, which normally keeps its ranges under wraps by opting out of the round of seasonal high street press days, has unveiled its key catwalk looks across the offer.
A spokeswoman for Primark said: "Tartan will be very big this autumn as will the two-tone dress, which gives the separates look but is more comfortable and easy to wear."
Oversized exposed zips and volume at the hips – key looks on February's catwalks – have been picked up by Primark in the form of a neon orange bandeau dress.
Drapers fashion writer Laura Jackson said: "Yet again, Primark has pulled it out of the trend bag, with a range that looks more considered in design terms than the bargain prices suggest."
The check trend, which most high street brands have recognised as a ruffle-fronted plaid shirt for autumn, comes through in a 1950s-inspired flare dress with an oversized blue and black houndstooth print.
