Jaeger London kicked off its second season at LFW with a beautiful collection of light, voluminous dresses juxtaposed against tailored, structured jackets for spring 09.
The Jaeger London spring 09 collection features Jaeger's signature slick tailoring, with an emphasis on the shoulders using striking, architectural sleeves on jackets. This was shown alongside romantic, floaty tunic-blouses, fluid maxis and flirty minis. Paisley prints, colourful safari suits and slinky jumpsuits featured heavily.
The mood at the show was upbeat, with buyers, journalists and celebrity spectators, including Erin O'Connor, Lizzie Jagger and Leah Wood, packing out the room, and Topshop supermodel Jourdan Dunn was on the catwalk.
Jaeger London designer Karen Boyd said: "There are fewer applied surface details this season. The emphasis is on cutting. Lace guipure, 3D texture and multi-rouleaux looped fringing are created from the cloth itself to crate the interest and detail in a new way. This is not about a head to toe prescriptive way of dressing."
Jaeger group chief executive Belinda Earl said: "Our spring 09 collection really demonstrates the continued investment in the design and innovation of Jaeger."
