Tessa Hartman, founder of the Scottish Fashion Awards, has launched The Scottish Fashion Council, to help promote Scottish fashion designers worldwide.
The Scottish Fashion Council will be co-chaired by Brian Rennie, creative director of Gant. Other founding members include model Kirsty Hume, Elle magazine's executive fashion editor Stacey Duguid and Gillian McVey, co-founder of Purple PR.
The Scottish Fashion Counncil's aim is to advise the Scottish Government, local councils and tourist partners on the best ways to promote Scottish designers internationally.
One of the council's first projects is New Generation Scots, an initiative enabling fashion graduates and emerging designers to apply for funding.
