Austin Reed’s footwear first
Austin Reed has inked a deal with The Jacobson Group to produce its first footwear collection.
The Jacobson Group will launch a 26-style Austin Reed-branded footwear range for autumn, which will it wholesale from £38 via its Lotus subsidiary. The collection will debut at Moda Footwear at the NEC in Birmingham on February 17-19.
The Jacobson Group hopes to attract 100 independent wholesale accounts, and will supply a minimum of 30 Austin Reed stores at launch.
The deal is a first for Austin Reed, which is understood to have international licences but none in its home market.
However, it is the latest in a spate of activity for The Jacobson Group. It bought the Ravel brand name last autumn and plans to relaunch it as a wholesale range this year. It has also been linked to Stead & Simpson’s Lilley & Skinner brand, but has denied it is close to buying it.
The Austin Reed licence will sit alongside Lotus’s existing brand portfolio which includes Lotus, Rombah Wallace, PERtu, Portland and Norvic. Jacobson Group also owns Gola and Frank Wright, and has a licence for Lonsdale footwear.
Lotus sales director Alan Scott said “Austin Reed is a perfect complement to our portfolio.”
Austin Reed was not available for comment.
