Deloitte appoints Richard Hyman

  • Comment
Business advisory firm Deloitte has appointed Richard Hyman, the founder of Verdict Research, as a strategic adviser to its consumer business practice.

Richard Lloyd-Owen, head of Deloitte's UK consumer business practice said: "Richard will add a new dimension to our offering for the retail industry and brings with him over 25 years of experience in this sector. His broad industry knowledge will enhance our ability to deliver value and he will aid our retail team in providing strategic advice to help our clients secure growth in difficult markets."

Hyman added: "I am delighted to be working with Deloitte especially at such a critical time for the industry. These are tough times for UK retail. The era of booming consumer spending is behind us and a mature market such as the UK is not likely to see a return in the near term. Retail chief executives are facing a new market reality and will be asking questions over which direction to take their business. I look forward to working closely with Deloitte's retail team to help shape our clients' response to these problems."

In recent years, Hyman has worked with and advised the likes of Marks & Spencer, Tesco, Debenhams, Sainsbury's, Littlewoods, John Lewis and New Look.

Hyman will continue to act as an adviser to Verdict Research.
