Jones will revamp Dunhill to appeal to a younger consumer

Menswear designer Kim Jones has been appointed creative director of Dunhill.

Jones will abandon his own label to focus on his role at Dunhill. He is expected to revamp the Richemont-owned British luxury goods brand to appeal to a younger customer and help it grow international retail sales.

Jones will take up his position on March 1, meaning the current spring 08 Kim Jones collection will be his last. He will also sever his partnership with Umbro after five years after this season.

Jones founded his label in 2003 and picked up the accolade of British Menswear Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 2006. He has also worked at Alexander McQueen and Hugo Boss.
