The comeback of iconic 1960s label Biba lifted London Fashion Week on opening day yesterday.

The autumn 08 Biba collection, which was created by a team of unknown young designers, showed mini-dresses, puffball skirts, ruffle details, jewel-gem colours, embellished tops topped off with 1920s-style cone shape hats.

Biba was the highlight of the opening day's catwalk shows which included Paul Costelloe and the debut LFW catwalk from Jaeger under its Jaeger London line.

Its refreshing to see Bibas collection designed by a 'team of unknown designers' instead of highly paid celebrities who have no design training. I would like to see craft go back to craftsman in general who are the rightful owners instead of 'celebrities'.
