Benetton predicts performance boost in 2008

Italian fashion group Benetton is predicting a 7% rise in profits this year, after sales rose 9% to €2.08 billion (£1.56bn) for the year end 2007.

 

Net profits for the period were up 16% to €145m (£109.3m)

The company said that expanded collections had pushed up sales, with menswear performing particularly well and now accounting for 20% of total sales.

Kidswear sales were up 15%.

EBITDA, at the group which runs the Benetton and Sisley chains, was up 35% to €243m (£183.3m)
