Department store Beales has appointed Bhs retail director Tony Brown as chief executive.
Brown will replace Allan Allkins who will retire in April. Brown has been retail director at Bhs since 2001, responsible for store operations in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Beales has 12 shops in the UK. Nine trade as Beales (in Bedford, Bournemouth, Ealing, Horsham, Kendal, Poole, Tonbridge, Winchester and Worthing), while the remaining three trade under their own individual name – Broadbents & Boothroyds of Southport, Denners of Yeovil and Whitakers of Bolton.
