Private equity firm 3i is to buy luxury lingerie brand Agent Provocateur.
3i plans to expand the UK lingerie business overseas. Joseph Corré, who founded Agent Provocateur with Serena Rees in 1994, will remain as creative director. Rees will pursue new opportunities but will remain a shareholder of the business.
Hamleys Group chairman Stuart Rose has been appointed as chairman of Agent Provocateur.
Corré said: "This new phase in the development of Agent Provocateur will give us the operational and financial platform to realise the company's potential."
