Ted Baker posts 12.5% retail sales rise

Ted Baker saw retail sales grow by 12.5% over the festive period for the seven week period ended Christmas Eve.
The company also reported stellar sales for the second half the year, with retail sales rising by 14% during the period from August 12 to December 24th.
The premium fashion brand pushed on with opening more stores over the period. Square footage at the company increased by 7.2% over the period including openings in Brighton, East Sussex and at the Aventura Mall in Florida, USA.
Gross margins were in line with management expectations during the festive period and the retailer said it will enter the new season with a clean stock position.
Founder and chief executive Ray Kelvin was positive about the months ahead. He said: "We are pleased to report that the brand's performance has once again been strong and trading across the group has been in line with our expectations. We look forward to a successful outcome for the full year."
