Toast burns French Connection results
French Connection said total sales were up 5% and like-for-likes up 3% for the 13 weeks to January 31. But performance at womenswear mail order arm Toast was 'very disappointing'. Seymour Pierce analyst Richard Ratner estimated that like-for-like sales at Toast were running at 20% to 30% down. In wholesale, UK forward orders for autumn 07 were 2% down on last year.
